À propos
I grew up in a village in Mount Lebanon, watching women I loved live lives shaped by other people’s decisions. At seventeen I chose medicine, then gynecology, as a mission.
Every patient who asked me “why is this happening” pushed me further: into homeopathy, herbal medicine, functional medicine, kinesiology, hypnosis, and past life regression.
My personal spiritual path in Sufism added wisdom and presence to the work we do together, the person seeking assistance and me.
Modern medicine is built on pathology and forgets the healthy, amazing abilities of the body. Every couple remembers, in its own way, the way back to trusting the body. A mentor is a must: someone to remind them of their choices, the best preparations, and how to say no to procedures that might interfere.
I had been 'delivering' babies like other obstetricians, then I slowly realized that birth is something else. A birth is centered around the birthing woman, and the medical practitioner is present to assist only when needed.
'Babies are not pizzas!'
